***New Courses: Healthy Eating Mindfulness with the Alexander Technique and Introductory Classes***



The Alexander Technique helps you identify and prevent the harmful postural habits that aggravate, or may be the cause of, stress, pain and under-performance. You will learn how to release tension and rediscover balance of mind and body with increased body awareness.  

How does the teacher do this? With the guidance of their hands you build up trust in letting go into your support. With verbal contact you are able to bring your attentiveness to your body. This is renewed throughout the session so you can let go of your bag of worries which cause you to mind wonder into the past or future. Our habits often present ourselves with a huge unachievable goal that brings up anxiety or depression. With the teachers experience you are introduced to the next stepping stone into which you can release and relearn effortless poise which helps bring a sense of achievement and lifts your spirit.  

An independent research carried out by Bristol University showed that Alexander Technique lessons have significant long term benefits for back pain. An economic evaluation published in the British Medical Journal concluded that Alexander Technique lessons are an effective and cost-effective option for the NHS.
